Gas: exports Gazprom to Europe rise up, even in summer

(ANSA) - MOSCOW - Russian gas exports rise in Europe during summer, traditionally a 'calm' season for the methane market. In the first eight days of August, Gazprom's "blue gold" supplies to the Opal gas pipeline in Germany - the extension of the Nord Stream - grew by 30%, touching 140 million cubic meters per day at Greifswald station.

"The Nord Stream is today at 90% of its capacity," said Gazprom's number one Alexei Miller quoted by Tass. "Russian gas demand in Europe - he added - is very high: Gazprom uses all available routes, both Yamal-Europe through Poland, remaining at the highest levels despite the Opal, and the Ukrainian corridor, whose traffic Even grew up".

According to Gazprom, 2017 could close with 180 billion cubic meters of gas exported to Europe, or one more than 2016. (ANSA).
