Croatia: GDP up 3.9% in the first quarter

Mainly driven by FDI, household and public spending

(ANSA) - ZAGREB, 29 MAY - The Croatian economy has recorded a big increase in the GDP in the first quarter of this year, which grew by 3.9% compared to the same period in 2018, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS) reported today. This was the strongest growth since before the financial crisis and among the highest in the European Union. Foreign direct investments, and household and state spending have driven the increase. The first quarter of 2019 was the 19th quarter in a row with a positive number of Croatian GDP, which grew by 2.6% last year. (ANSA).
