Eurostat, Romanians most ‘mobile’ workers within the
Strong increase in migration from CEE between 2007 and 2017
28 May, 20:31In 2017, Romanian nationals of working age (20-64 years old) residing abroad within the EU accounted for 19.7% of the population, with the next largest shares recorded in Lithuania (15.0%), Croatia (14.0%), Portugal (13.9%), Latvia (12.9%) and Bulgaria (12.5%), countries far over the EU average of 3.8% (+1.3% compared to 2007).
Eurostat data show a strong increase in migration from Central- and Eastern Europe since 2007 until 2017. Compared with 2007, the share of Romanians living in another EU Member State increased by 12.3%, followed by Latvia (+10%), Lithuania (+9.5%), Bulgaria (8%). (ANSA).
