(ANSA) - SARAJEVO, AUGUST 27 - Tecno Engineering 2C (TE2C), an Italian engineering company based in Rome, was awarded the contract to prepare the executive project for the Sarajevo International Airport, to renovate the runway, taxiways and part of the aircraft parking lot, the Italian Embassy in Sarajevo reported.

The project includes the renovation and, where necessary, the creation of paved surfaces for a total of 216,000 sq m, the reconstruction of the lighting systems of the runway and the associated taxiways. The goal is to improve operational capacity and safety at night and in low visibility conditions, helping to reduce the cancellation or hijacking of flights to other airports in the event of bad weather.

TE2C is a renowned company and is active in many sectors of civil engineering and especially in the airport sector. Founded in 1989, it boasts a 30-year experience in providing specialist consultancy services and integrated design of airport infrastructure and facilities and has already carried out maintenance work at Mostar airport in 2014. TE2C was awarded the contract in association with Ecoplan and Integra, both based in Mostar. (ANSA).
