(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, MAR 4 - The president of
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, handed over to the EU High
Representative Federica Mogherini, and the Commissioner for
Enlargement Johannes Hahn, the answers to the Brussels
questionnaire to obtain the official status of candidate country
to EU membership.
The Commission will have to give an opinion on Bosnia's
candidacy and submit it to the European Council, which is
responsible for the final decision.
"Our goal is to give a positive opinion and we are working on
it", however, "we must be realistic", Hahn underlined, urging
the political leaders of Sarajevo to complete the formation of
national and local governments "as soon as possible" and bring
forward "all the necessary reforms agreed" with Brussels.
Sarajevo did not answer some questions in the Brussels
questionnaire, particularly in the field of university
education. However, Dodik has ensured that the country intends
to "work on all reforms" and "all political actors are
committed" to strengthening "cooperation with the EU". "We
expect to form all governments by the end of this month", he
added.(ANSA).
