(ANSA) - MILAN, OCTOBER 26 - Expo visitors spent an average of 27 euros on food per person, with 32% choosing exclusively Italian cuisine, a survey by Coldiretti-Ixé revealed Monday.

Only 25% of visitors ate just foreign food, while 34% tried both foreign and Italian food, while 9% did not remember, said the survey presented at the Forum on the Legacy of Expo and Future Challenges, organized by Coldiretti. Less than half of visitors (47%) considered their spending on food too high, while 6% said they did not buy anything.

Memorable foreign dishes included burgers and lobster sandwiches in the US Pavilion, steak from Uruguay, Dutch and Belgian potatoes, Spanish sangria and ham tapas, Indonesian fried rice and chicken, Berber lamb tajine from Morocco, falafel from Israel, Iranian zereshk, and Japanese sukiyaki bento.
