(ANSA) - TRIESTE, MAY 22 - Developing new forms of scientific collaboration and investment opportunities in Italy in the sector of biotechnology: this is the goal of the meetings held this week between representatives of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and the members of the US biotech delegation in the ''Palazzo Italia'' at Milan's Expo 2015.

As the same FVG Region reported in a press release, this was an opportunity to present regional excellence in this sector.

Franco Scolari, director general of Pordenone Technological Centre, as a representative of the biotech companies based in FVG, outlined the efforts and successes achieved by all these companies in biotechnology used in the medical sector.

The meeting was organized in anticipation of the 2015 Bio International Convention to be held in June in Philadelphia (US), which will be attended by some companies from FVG. The regional group - according to the press release - will be presented as High-Tech Bio District Friuli Venezia Giulia, in the context of the Italian pavilion organized by the ICE-Italian Trade Promotion Agency, government organisation which promotes the internationalisation of Italian companies.
