Public prosecutor Giovanni Musarò
said on Friday during the trial over the death of Stefano
Cucchi, a Roman draughtsman who died in police custody in 2009,
that police knew of a preliminary autopsy report that had been
kept secret.
"On October 30, 2009, a preliminary report on the initial
results of Cucchi's autopsy was kept secret, but the provincial
and Rome police knew about it," Musarò said.
The report emphasised that "the damaging nature of the
injuries at the time did not allow for accurately ascertaining
the cause of death".
