Filippo Turetta, a 21-year-old Padua
University biomedical engineering student who has confessed to
murdering his 22-year-old ex girlfriend and former coursemate
Giulia Cecchettin in a case that shocked Italy in November,
stabbed her 75 times in a jealous fir, prosecutors said in
documents filed ahead of an indictment Thursday.
Of the 75 stab wounds, about twenty came from defending herself
with her hands, while she was also stabbed several times in the
face, said the prosecutors.
The young man is charged with cruelty "clearly exceeding the
homicidal intent".
Italian media reported Thursday, citing case files that the
control he had exercised over her was continuous.
Turetta had installed a spy-app on Cecchettin's mobile phone,
and had planned the murder and escape at least since 7 November,
four days before the murder on November 11.
In a file he had also jotted down how to tie her up.
