A 24-year-old Moroccan man was arrested at Erba near Como Tuesday for throwing acid into his Moroccan ex-girlfriend's face.
The attack took place in the industrial zone of the town, police said.
The woman was taken to hospital with hydrochloric acid burns, in code yellow.
A 47-year-old man who had tried to help the victim was slightly injured.
The young man had been arrested in August for stalking his ex.
