Tourist arrivals in the Italian
Friuli Venezia Giulia region totaled over 8.5 million (+6%) from
January to mid-September, representing a +4.9% increase over
2019. According to FVG president Massimiliano Fedriga, the
region's goal is to attract 10 million visitors by 2023. Among
the noteworthy statistics are the increases in tourists from
Ireland (+62.1%), owing in part to the new Trieste-Dublin
flight, and from the United States (+29.3%). The FVG also
recorded nearly 2.3 million visitors from Austria and Germany.
