Slovenian police have apprehended
a man, alleged to be a 62-year-old former police officer, who
barricaded himself in his home in the town of Brezice on
Wednesday after firing shots in front of the local pharmacy and
then at police officers. The intervention ended around 2:30
a.m., with no one injured. It was carried out by a special
forces unit, a negotiating team, and Novo Mesto and Brezice
police officers.
