Slovakia will hold presidential
elections tomorrow, which could consolidate populist Prime
Minister Robert Fico's power if voters elect one of his allies
as the country's next leader. If the president of parliament,
Peter Pellegrini, confirms the very slight advantage that polls
attribute to him over former Foreign Minister Ivan Korcok, who
is close to the liberal opposition, and above all if he wins the
likely run-off in two weeks (on April 6), Fico's power will be
strengthen.
