Italian rail operator Trenitalia
closed the first 10 months of the year with over half a billion
passengers, up 20% compared to the same period in 2022, CEO
Luigi Corradi said on Monday.
Some 82 million journeys were purchased through digital
channels, up 31% over the previous year.
"Italy has 24,000 connections a day by train and bus," said
Corradi, referring to services operated by Trenitalia.
Of these, he said 270 are high-speed and 120 are intercity train
connections, with an additional 6,000 regional trains and 15,400
busitalia connections.
"Abroad, there are 13,000 connections a day," particularly in
Spain and France, he added.
