(ANSA) - Milan, October 7 - The demand for data scientists
and data analysts is set to grow by 240% in the next few years
in the move towards an increasingly data-driven economy,
according to a conference on Big Data organised by EIT Digital
at the EU pavilion at Expo on Wednesday.
"These are highly specialised professional figures that are
currently missing from the job market but will become ever more
important in future," said Dario Avallone, director of R&D at
Engineering S.p.A.
"This is why we are developing a training and development
centre specifically on big data," he added.
"More and more professionals will be needed to analyse data
and identify the services that can be provided starting from
these data. The huge quantity of data that surrounds us is a
resource only if it can be processed to create added value,"
Avallone said.
