Italy's taxis will strike on June
5-6, union said Monday saying they were unhappy at not being
convened by the government after their recent strike against
sector deregulation on May 21.
"Since no call has been received after the national strike
called for 21 May last, against the widespread abusive phenomena
in the sector and to call for the regulation of technological
platforms, we have been forced to proclaim a new 48-hour
national stoppage, for 5 and 6 June next", they said.
The unions that called the strike were Ugl taxi, Federtaxi
Cisal, Satam, Tam, Claai, Unione Artigiani, Unione Tassisti
d'Italia, Uritaxi, Fast Confal taxi, Unica taxi Cgil, Orsa taxi,
Usb taxi, and Unimpresa, Sitan/Atn.
