Premier Giorgia Meloini had long and cordial talks with President Sergio Mattarella on the main political topics of the day at the Quirinale presidential palace Friday, government sources said.
Meloni went to the Quirinale Friday morning where she had a long and cordial conversation with Head of State Mattarella on the main current political issues, the sources said. They reportedly discussed the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, the EU, and the migrant crisis, sources said.
Due to the length of the talks, Meloni no longer has the 'technical' time to travel to Udine for the centre-right's closing campaign rally for mayoral and Friuli regional elections there, and she will attend the event via videoconference, sources added.
