Life Senator and Holocaust survivor
Liliana Segre told the New York Times Monday she was afraid she
had lived in vain after the recent and ongoing resurgence of
antisemitism.
"I'm afraid I lived in vain: why would I have suffered for 30
years sharing the intimate details of my family, my pain, my
desperation.
For who? For what?," said the 90-year-old in an interview with
Italy correspondent Jason Horowitz.
"This is not new," she said, asking herself if she had lived so
long only to see history repeating itself.
