Pope Francis will meet at separate
times with a group of relatives of Israelis held hostage in Gaza
and a group of relatives of Palestinians suffering from the
conflict in Gaza, on the sidelines of his general audience in St
Peter's next Wednesday morning, Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni
said Friday.
"With these meetings, of an exclusively humanitarian nature,
Pope Francis wants to manifest his spiritual closeness to the
sufferings of each one," he said.
Francis has condemned the October 7 Has attack in Israel and
urged Israel to limit civilian casualties in its retaliation.
