French President Emmanuel Macron
discussed the "migration issue" and the "end of life" during his
meeting with Pope Francis in Marseille on Saturday morning, the
Elysée Palace has said in a statement.
The Pope and Macron also reportedly discussed other topics,
including "the war in Ukraine, the situation in the Sahel and
the environment", according to BFM TV, citing the presidency of
the republic.
The pope has been in the southern French port city for a two-day
visit including a meeting with NGOs that perform migrant sea
rescues, an address to the closing session of Mediterranean
Meetings and celebration of Mass, which Macron said he would
attend.
