Pope Francis will visit Rome
city council on the Campidoglio (Capitol) on March 26, the
Vatican said Monday.
The pope was invited by Mayor Virginia Raggi, Vatican press
office interim chief Alessandro Gisotti said.
Francis will be the fourth pope of the modern era to climb up
to the Campidoglio after Paul VI, John Paul II and Benedict XVI.
Raggi said "I thank His Holiness Pope Francis for accepting
Rome's invitation to meet the Capitoline assembly on March 26
next".
