Pope Francis on
Wednesday made an appeal to executives at Sardinian carrier
Meridiana to change its plan to make 1,366 workers redundant.
"Please, I make an appeal to all the managers, don't leave any
families without jobs," the Pope said during his general in St
Peter's Square, which a group of Meridiana workers attended. The
Argentine pontiff called for a "fair solution that, above all,
takes account of the dignity of human beings and the essential
needs of many families". http://popefrancisnewsapp.com/
