Italian tennis sensation Jannik
Sinner said he is relishing the prospect of playing at Wimbledon
after winning the first-grass court title of his career in Halle
on Sunday in his first tournament since becoming the World No.
1.
The 22-year-old defeated his doubles partner Hubert Hurkacz
7-6(8), 7-6(2) to lift the ATP 500 trophy.
"I'm just looking forward to it," the Australian Open champion
said, referring to Wimbledon.
"Last year I made the semis, I played some good tennis.
"So let's see what's coming this year.
"I'm more confident for sure. And on this surface, obviously the
grass might be a bit different from here and Wimbledon.
"But I have one week now to prepare for it, so hopefully it's
going to be a good tournament."
Sinner's compatriots Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori beat
Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz 7-6(3), 7-6(5) to take the men's
doubles title in Halle, continuing their hit form after they
reached the finals the Australian Open and Roland Garros.
But Lorenzo Musetti lost 6-1, 7-6(8) to American Tommy Paul in
the final at Queen's.
