Italy forward Domenico Berardi is set
to miss Euro 2024 after rupturing the Achilles tendon in his
right leg during Sassuolo's 1-0 defeat at Serie
A-relegation-battle-rivals Hellas Verona on Sunday.
The 29-year-old had only just come back from an month and a half
on the sidelines due to injury.
The Achilles injury is a big setback for the Azzurri and for
Sassuolo, who are fighting to avoid the drop down to the second
tier.
Sunday's defeat leaves Sassuolo second bottom in Serie A with 20
points from 27 games.
