AC Milan continued their hot form on
Sunday, beating champions Napoli 1-0 thanks to a coolly taken
Theo Hernandez goal in the first half after a clever pass from
Rafael Leao.
Stefano Pioli's side, who have won seven of their last nine
games, are third in Serie A with 52 points from 24 games, eight
points behind leaders Inter and one behind second-placed
Juventus, who take on Udinese in Turin later on Monday.
Atalanta thrashed Genoa 4-1 away from home to consolidate fourth
place, which is good for Italy's last slot in next year's
Champions League.
The Bergamo side have 42 points, three more than fifth-placed
Bologna, who continued their surprise bid for a place in
European soccer's big time with a 4-0 drubbing of Lecce.
Napoli, whose title defence has effectively been over for some
time, are ninth with 35 points.
