Inter said Saturday that they have
signed France forward Marcus Thuram on a five-year deal.
He arrives as a free agent after his contract expired at
Borussia Mönchengladbach.
He had been with the German side for four seasons.
The 25-year-old is the son of former Parma, Juventus, Barcelona
and France defender Lilian Thuram.
He was born in Parma in 1997, when his father was playing for
the northern Italian city's club.
"I'm really very happy to be here, today is a big day," Marcus
Thuram told Inter TV.
"I used to watch Serie A when I was a kid and I saw so many
champions. Coming to Serie A for me is like coming home.
"The Italian league has changed a lot since my dad played.
"But he gave me a lot of advice as a father. Namely, to play
with joy and to enjoy every moment because my dream has become
reality.
"I hope I can score a lot of goals in this jersey and win as
much as possible".
