Juventus said Saturday that they have
signed 23-year-old United States winger Timothy Weah on a
five-year contract.
He is the son of former AC Milan striker and current Liberia
President George Weah.
He spent his childhood in the United States but moved to Europe
at the age of 15, when he joined the Paris Saint Germain academy
in the summer of 2015.
The 23-year-old has won the French league title three times,
twice with PSG and in 2021 with Lille, and he also lifted the
Scottish title in 2019 during a loan stint at Celtic.
Juve said Lille would get 10.3 million euros for Weah, payable
in two financial years, with the addition of ancillary costs up
to a maximum of one million euros.
It added that "bonuses up to a maximum of 2.1 million euros are
envisaged upon achievement of agreed sporting objectives and/or
conditions".
