Napoli clinched the Serie A title with
five games to spare on Thursday when a 1-1 at Udinese gave them
an unassailable 16-point lead at the top of the table.
It is third Italian championship crown in the history of the
Naples side, and their first since 1990, when late soccer great
Diego Maradona played for them.
Things did not initially go to script, with Sandi Lovric firing
the hosts in front on 13 minutes.
But Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen, Serie A's top scorer, earned
Napoli the point they needed when he blasted home the rebound of
a parried shot on 52 minutes for his 22nd goal of the season.
