Italy's Larissa Iapichino, 20, won the
silver medal at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in
Istanbul on Sunday with a leap of 6.97 metres to beat the
Italian record of 6.91m set in 1998 by her mother, twice world
champion and 2000 Olympic silver medalist Fiona May.
It was Italy's second medal on the last day of the championships
after the women's 4x400 relay team of Alice Mangione, Ayomide
Folorunso, Anna Polinari and Eleonora Marchiando also took
silver.
