Serie B club SPAL on Tuesday sacked
former Roma and Italy midfielder Daniele De Rossi as coach after
a poor run left the Ferrara side third from bottom in the
Italian league's second tier.
SPAL said "it would like to thank the coach and the members of
his staff for their work over the last few months, wishing them
the best professional luck for the future of their careers".
It was the first coaching appointment for 2006 World Cup winner
De Rossi, 39.
He last played fro Boca Juniors for five games after leaving
Roma after 18 seasons in 2019, where he was known as 'Future
Captain" behind icon and fellow World Cup winner Francesco
Totti, winning the league in 2001.
