(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 19 - Italy's Chiara Pellacani won the 3m springboard gold at the European Aquatics Championships in Rome Friday taking Italy's record medal haul at the event to 20 golds, 11 ahead of second-placed Ukraine.
The Azzurra, who won five medals including a gold at the last European championships in Budapest in 2020, scored 318.75 and beat Swiss Michelle Heimberg into silver (301.80) and Britain's Yasmin Harper into bronze (296.20).
The other Italian competing, Elisa Pizzini, came 10th.
The only Italian to win the world 1m springboard was the great Tania Cagnotto in 2015.
Cagnotto came third in the 3m event in the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
