New York based private equity fund
Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) on Friday denied reports it was
set to take over Bergamo-based Serie A club Atalanta.
Sources had said a preliminary deal had been reached to sell 85%
of the club for around 350 million euros.
Current owner Antonio Percassi would stay at the helm as CEO,
they said.
But a KKR spokesman denied all interest, saying the fund "has
never taken into consideration this hypothesis".
The rumpoured sale would have meant eight of the Italian top-
light's 20 would be Us owned.
Genoa, Milan, Parma, Fiorentina, Roma, Spezia and Venezia
already have American owners.
