Inter booked their place in the
Champions League last 16 with a 2-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk at
San Siro on Wednesday while AC Milan kept alive their hopes of
reaching the knockout stage by beating Atletico Madrid 2-0 away.
A double by Edin Dzeko sees Inter lie second in Group D with one
game to go on 10 points, two behind leaders Real Madrid and an
unassailable four points in front of third-placed Sheriff.
Stefano Pioli's Milan climbed to third in Group B thanks to
Junior Messias's late winner in Madrid.
With leaders Liverpool out of sight on 15 points, the battle for
the second qualifying spot is between Milan and Atletico, who
have four points, and Porto, who have five.
Milan entertain a Liverpool side with nothing to play for in
their last game, while Porto and Atletico face off in the other
match.
