Victor Osimhen netted with a late
header to give Napoli a 1-0 home win over Torino on Sunday and
keep them top of Serie A with a perfect record of eight
victories from as many games.
The Naples side have 24 points, two more than AC Milan, who came
from 2-0 down to triumph 3-2 against Hellas Verona at San Siro
on Saturday.
Champions Inter are five points further back in third place
after losing 3-1 in Rome to coach Simone Inzaghi's former club
Lazio, who moved up to fifth.
Juventus continued their recovery from a poor start, beating AS
Roma 1-0 at home thanks to a goal by Moise Kean.
They are now seventh with 14 points.
Roma, who are fourth with 15 points, deserved at least a draw.
At the end of the first half Juve keeper Wojciech Szczesny saved
a penalty by Roma's Jordan Veretout.
The Roma players were bemused as to why the referee blew up in
the move that led to the spot kick instead of allowing play for
go on, with Tammy Abraham touching home an instant after the
whistle went.
