Inter boss Antonio Conte said
Tuesday he had never been close to a return this year to his
former club Juventus.
"I was never close to a return to Juventus, I never received
a phone call," said the former Chelsea manager.
"It was always Inter that showed me great interest and great
affection," said Conte, who won three straight league titles
with Juve before becoming Italy coach.
"So I feel a great responsibility to create something
important."
Conte was speaking on the eve of the International Champions
Cup match against Juve in Nanjing.
Conte has seen a bid for Man Utd striker Romelu Lukaku turned
down but he is still keen to get Roma's Edin Djeko.
Inter are fancied to give eight-time straight and reigning
Serie A champs Juve a run for their money with Conte in charge.
