Italy's 2006 World Cup-winning
coach Marcello Lippi has said no to a new role as the national
soccer federation FIGC's technical director.
The move comes as a federation court was considering
whether Lippi's appointment would be a conflict of interest as
his son Davide is an agent for many players.
"You all know how much I wanted Lippi to be technical
director of the (various) national teams," said FIGC President
Carlo Tavecchio.
"I can understand his bitterness".
