Italy's football clubs should agree
not to hire more than five foreign-born players each so that
national team coaches will have more to Italians to choose from,
former coach Marcello Lippi told a sports program on RAI public
broadcasting radio on Monday, who led Italy to win the 2006
World Cup.
Back then, said Lippi, the pool of players he could choose
from made up 66% of Serie A teams. Today, that number stands at
35% and this will make things difficult for current Italy coach
Antonio Conte , Lippi said.
