An Italian former Olympic show
jumper was banned for life Thursday after mistreating a horse,
Flambo, which died at his hands. Paolo Margi, who competed in
the dressage at the Barcelona and Atlanta Games, was condemned
by a sporting tribunal of the Italian Equestrian Sports
Federation (FISE). Flambo died after a "cruel" rope session in
November 2014, the FISE said. Margi was cleared in a similar
case in 1998.
