Italian cancer patients pay five
billion euros a year out of their own pockets for care, a new
report said Thursday.
This is the total from medical examinations (1.1 billion),
transport and stays in places of treatment (1.5 billion), drugs
(808 million) and reconstructive surgery (425 million), the
Italian federation of oncology volunteer associations (FAVO)
said.
The report was issued on the National Day for Cancer
Patients.
