The Italian doctor who
contracted Ebola in Sierra Leone is being treated with a therapy
that uses plasma from a convalescent, Rome's Spallanzani said on
Thursday.
Spallanzani doctors told a press conference that the
patient, who got the deadly virus while working for the
medical-aid NGO Emergency, started the therapy on Wednesday
after returning from Africa on Tuesday.
They said that the plasma arrived from Spain "thanks to a
chain of support and solidarity from the institutions, the
scientific community, the pharmaceutical companies and the
transport firms".
