The final communiqué of the G7 summit
in Puglia, which ANSA has seen, states that "we have launched
the G7 Coalition to prevent and combat the trafficking of
migrants".
The statement referred to "collective commitment and
strengthened cooperation on migration, to face the challenges
and seize the opportunities it presents, in partnership with
countries of origin and transit.
"We will focus on the root causes of irregular migration, on
efforts to improve border management and curb transnational
organized crime, and on safe, legal routes for migration," it
said.
