The government is cohesive, compact,
and determined on foreign policy, Premier Giorgia Meloni said
Tuesday despite an apparent contradiction between her calling
Russian elections a sham and her deputy premier Matteo Salvini
saying Russian voters were right to re-elect President Vladmir
Putin.
"I don't have many things to say even though I found the debate
rich in ideas and many elements of agreement, even across the
board. Some things, however, I do not agree with, starting with
Senator Sensi's intervention (denying) the compactness of the
majority' in foreign policy, Meloni said in her reply to the
Senate on her briefing on this week's EU Council.
"There is nothing beyond the government's political line that is
not voted on in the chamber and taken abroad. And I can say
without fear of contradiction that the government in a year and
a half has the same position and the same determination as is
recognised abroad but not in Italy"..
