The government and its parliamentary
majority must respect the prerogatives of the judiciary, the
central executive committee of the Italian magistrates union ANM
said on Saturday, describing the censure of the forced
indictment ordered by a Rome judge against Justice
Undersecretary Andrea Delmastro for allegedly revealing official
secrets as "incomprehensible".
The ANM said it hopes that "these stances are not really shared
by the head of the ministry and the government majority and that
a few days of reflection might lead to more pondered
conclusions".
The union also recalled that the "separation of the powers of
the State" is a "guarantee of the equality of all citizens
before the law".
