Berlusconi is suffering from is not the most severe type,
medical sources said after the three-time ex-premier was
revealed to be suffering for some time from chronic
myelomonocytic leukemia after he was admitted to a Milan
hospital for a lung infection.
This form of leukemia is not the most life-threatening and in
its chronic form is permits a good quality of life, they said.
It is typically treated with 'DNA' chemo therapy.
Berlusconi, 86, is alert and actively following his treatment
with biological drugs, hospital sources said.
