Premier Giorgia Meloni's cabinet is
set to approve a new decree with measures to help families cope
with high energy bills on Tuesday.
The package includes the extension of the 'social bonus' scheme
to help low-income families pay their utility bills.
Furthermore, according to a draft, the exemption for domestic
consumers on payment of gas-system transmission charges will be
extended until the end of June.
But the electricity system charges were not mentioned in the
draft decree and, therefore, look set to return.
The decree also extends the reduction in the value added tax on
gas to 5% to the second quarter of this year.
