A proposed EU norm that would
recognize gay adoptions is set to spark a clash in the Senate.
The ruling centre right has said it will vote against the norm
because it paves the way for recognizing surrogate pregnancy,
which is against the law in Italy.
The opposition centre left has said it will vote in favour of
the norm.
The norm is currently before the Upper House's EU affairs
committee.
A vote is expected Tuesday.
