Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio on
Monday presented his new party, which will make its debut in the
September 25 general election, Impegno Civico (IC - Civic
Commitment).
Di Maio recently left the 5-Star Movement (M5S), a group he used
to head, after a row over current M5S leader Giuseppe Conte's
opposition to Italy sending more weapons to Ukraine.
After Di Maio left, the M5S triggered the crisis of government
that lead to the collapse of outgoing Premier Mario Draghi's
ruling coalition and a snap election.
IC's symbol's features a bee and Di Maio said this was because
the party was focusing on the "environment, the fight against
climate change.
"When bees disappear, humankind will disappear," he added.
