Italy has expressed opposition to the
European Commission's plan to face the gas emergency, based on a
15% cut in consumption, diplomatic sources said on Friday.
Rome is opposed to the scale of the cut, the fact that it would
be obligatory and the fact that it would be same for everyone,
the sources said.
Italy imports most of its gas and is more reliant on gas for
electricity generation than other EU States.
