Commissioner said Friday that the Commission's proposed
750-billion-euro Recovery Fund to help member states cope with
the economic earthquake caused by the coronavirus emergency will
definitely be approved.
"It will undoubtedly be voted on and approved," Gentiloni
told Bloomberg TV.
"Some details will be changed and negotiated on, but the
heart of the proposal will be approved.
He said that it is possible that the agreement will be
presented to the European Council in July.
Italy is set to be the biggest beneficiary of the Fund as it
was the EU country ht hardest by COVID-19.
Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said that Italy had
"greatly appreciated" Berlin's position to make the Fund
possible.
