The government on Tuesday requested
a confidence vote on its decree concerning troubled ILVA
steelmaker, which is now before the Senate.
The confidence vote will go forward Wednesday morning on
what is the 11th decree on ILVA.
The Lower House approved the decree on July 13. It contains
various measures regarding the sale of an ILVA plant.
The steelmaker's giant Taranto works is going through an
expensive environmental clean-up and revamp to lower cancer
risks and save jobs in the southern Italian city.
